Best Product – Hot Deal on Cheap but Good USA-Made Kershaw Blur Folding Knife (11/17/18)

Over at Amazon, they’re running a one-day deal on select styles of Kershaw Blur assisted-opening folding pocket knives.

This is one of the most highly regarded folding pocket knives at the ~$50 price point, and it’s made in the USA. I’m a big Kershaw fan, and it’s rare for me to find anything about their knives to complain about.

Update: This post was originally published on 11/17/2018, and republished on 11/17/2018 when the deal returned. Thank you Jeff for the tip! Additional styles are on sale this time around!

Note: The deal has expired. Here are some other recommended pocket knives to consider:

Specs include a 3.4″ blade length, 4.5″ closed length, 3.9 oz weight, and reversible pocket clip. Kershaw’s SpeedSafe assisted opening mechanism allows for quick opening with a push of the thumb stud.

This is an assisted-opener, not an automatic knife, and so it shouldn’t be a problem. Still, always be aware of your local knife laws if you carry a knife for work or recreation.

I should also warn you. If this will be your first “real” pocket knife, the taste of quality might leave you wanting more. My Kershaw Leek knife (reviewed here) was a gateway knife for me, despite my owning several folding pocket knives (mainly Gerber) before.

Deal ends at 3am ET 11/18/2018, unless supplies sell out sooner.

There are 4 styles on sale:

  • DLC coated plain edge blade with black handle (shown above)
  • DLC coated partially serrated blade with black handle
  • DLC coated plain edge blade with olive green and black handle
  • DLC coated partially serrated Tanto-tipped blade with black handle

Additional styles for the 11/17/2018 sale:

  • Stonewashed blade with black handle
  • Stonewashed blade with blue and black handle
  • Blackwash blade with black handle

Sale Price: $35

These days, I prefer 3″ blade length knives, flipper knives, and manual openers. But if I had a $50 or less budget, and wanted the biggest bang for the buck, this would be my pick.

I couldn’t pass up the deal, and ordered one (plain edge blade, black handle) as a shop knife (and for eventual ToolGuyd review).
